Historic Environment Scotland is recruiting a Stonemason at Blackness Depot for a permanent, full-time and pensionable role, with a starting salary of £29,622 a year.
You will help plan and carry out masonry repairs and conservation work at historic sites served by the depot, with work at other HES locations as required. Tasks include shaping and dressing stone, traditional masonry repairs, stone indents and repointing. The post also involves supporting apprentices and using workshop and site equipment. Winter duties can include grounds maintenance, fencing repairs and painting.
The employer seeks a time-served stonemason with an advanced craft qualification, practical experience of historic masonry conservation and lime mortars, and sound knowledge of workplace health and safety.
