Finding a potential source of funding is only one part of securing the future of a historic building or heritage project. Funders increasingly need to understand what is being conserved, why the work is necessary, what it will cost, who will deliver it and what lasting benefit the project will create.

ConserveConnect Grant Support helps bridge the gap between an identified conservation need and a project capable of seeking appropriate funding. We help building owners, trusts, community organisations and heritage projects understand where they are, what information may still be required and which professional, technical or funding inputs could strengthen the project.

That may mean clarifying the conservation need, reviewing existing surveys and estimates, identifying gaps in the project evidence, considering suitable funding pathways or connecting the project with conservation architects, surveyors, craftspeople, engineers and other specialist practitioners through the wider ConserveConnect network.

Our aim is not simply to help projects apply for money. It is to help build stronger conservation projects — projects that understand the historic place, address genuine need, use appropriate expertise and are capable of delivering responsible, lasting outcomes.
ConserveConnect is not a grant-making body and cannot guarantee funding. Grant decisions remain entirely with individual funders. Our role is to support project readiness, improve access to relevant information and expertise, and help projects approach potential funding from a stronger position.
