London Victorian is a specialist tiling practice providing design, restoration, supply and installation of traditional Victorian and Edwardian geometric tiled floors across London.
With more than 15 years’ experience, the practice works on period hallways, entrance floors, porches, garden paths and other interior and exterior tiled areas.
Victorian floor restoration
London Victorian restores original geometric tiled floors where tiles have become loose, cracked, damaged or lost. Existing floors can be cleaned, regrouted and repaired, with missing areas matched using reclaimed antique tiles or compatible reproduction material.
Where an underlying base has failed, the practice can advise on or undertake appropriate preparation before relaying the historic or replacement tiles.
Geometric and encaustic tiling
New floors and pathways can be installed using traditional geometric patterns, borders and colour combinations appropriate to Victorian and Edwardian properties.
London Victorian works with a wide range of geometric tile shapes, sizes and colours and can reproduce traditional designs or create new schemes inspired by historic precedents.
Design consultancy
The practice provides advice on pattern selection, colour combinations, floor layout and the relationship between tiled floors and other architectural details.
CAD-trained designers can prepare accurate floor layouts and custom tile schemes, helping clients visualise a proposed design before installation.
Reclaimed and reproduction tiles
London Victorian stocks both new and antique Victorian geometric tiles and sources reclaimed material for restoration work. It also supplies patterned encaustic tiles, rope and castellated path edging, York stone steps and thresholds.
Period paths and entrances
Exterior work includes Victorian tiled garden paths, entrance steps and porches. The practice can also advise on associated period features such as path edging, railings and stonework.
London Victorian works with homeowners, architects, garden designers, interior designers and reclamation specialists on period-property projects throughout London.
