How it works

How Grant Support Works

Conservation and heritage projects can often feel difficult to navigate, especially during the early stages. Funding pathways, specialist advice, planning considerations, surveys, and conservation requirements can quickly become overwhelming for project owners, charities, churches, community organisations, and custodians of historic buildings.

ConserveConnect has developed its Grant Support process to help connect heritage and conservation projects with appropriate guidance, funding pathways, specialist expertise, and project support across the United Kingdom.

Whether you are repairing a listed building, restoring a historic structure, developing a community heritage initiative, or exploring adaptive reuse and regeneration, the process is designed to help projects move forward in a structured and supportive way.

Our Grant Support Pathway

Every conservation project is different. Some projects may only require early guidance and signposting, while others may progress through several stages of support and coordination depending on complexity, funding requirements, and conservation needs.

Initial Enquiry

Create a free ConserveConnect account and submit a Grant Support enquiry outlining your project, conservation requirements, and funding objectives.

Funding & Project Review

Projects are reviewed to help identify possible funding pathways, conservation considerations, specialist requirements, and potential next steps.

Specialist Support & Project Development

Where appropriate, ConserveConnect may assist with introductions to conservation professionals, specialist contractors, heritage consultants, and project development support services.

Suitable projects may also be invited into the secure ConserveConnect Partner Workspace where project information and supporting documentation can be privately managed and coordinated.

Ongoing Coordination Support

Some larger or more complex projects may require continued coordination, consultant collaboration, phased planning, or longer term project support as projects develop.
