London Brickwork Repointing specialises in traditional lime mortar repointing and the restoration of period and heritage brickwork throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties.
With more than 35 years’ experience in brickwork restoration, the business works on Victorian terraces, Georgian townhouses, listed buildings and properties within conservation areas. Each project is assessed individually, taking account of the existing mortar, brick type, exposure and condition of the masonry before an appropriate repair specification is developed.
Services include traditional lime mortar repointing, weather-struck pointing, tuck pointing, brick restoration and repair, brick cleaning, façade restoration, chimney repair and repointing, brick tinting and colouring, removal of inappropriate cement mortar, structural crack repair and wall-tie replacement using Helifix systems.
Lime mortar is matched to the existing building in colour, texture and joint profile, with the aim of retaining the breathability and character of traditional masonry. Specialist tuck pointing is available for Georgian, Regency and early Victorian façades using traditional lime putty and fine sand techniques.
The company also undertakes sympathetic brick cleaning and colour matching, together with repairs to damaged or deteriorated brickwork. Structural masonry repairs can include crack stitching and remedial wall-tie work where required.
